In most businesses, success comes when customers return often to buy more and more products and/or services. Dentistry is unique. When your dentist successfully helps you with a good dental care program, you will need fewer services - fewer fillings, extractions and root canals. You'll be returning for your 6-month checkup, but you will need less treatment.

The bottom line is - a good dentist will need to attract more patients to make up for the business he or she is losing by keeping their patients' teeth healthy.

Also - you might have noticed - some areas have more dentists than pizza places. That means a lot of competition - and marketing challenges - for those dentists.
